Nestled within Zilker Park is one of Austin's most popular swimming holes, Barton Springs Pool. This impressive 3 acre pool is spring-fed and stays at a cool ~68 degress year-round. While many Austinites retreat from the Texas heat in the summer, you can go for a swim any time of year as it is open year-round.

Hamilton Pool Preserve is a historic swimming hole which was designated a preserve in 1990. Located 3/4 mile from it's confluence with the Pedernales River, Hamilton Creek spills out over limestone outcroppings to create a 50 foot waterfall. The waterfall never completely dries up but will slow to a trickle during dry times. However, the pool's water level stays pretty constant, even in times of drought.

Blanco State Park offers is 104.6 acre park along the Blanco River in Blanco County. The land was deeded by private owners in 1933 before the park in 1934. Activities include:

Hours:

7 days a week, year round. There is no gate.

Blue Hole Regional Park is open year-round. Visit the children's play area, basketball courts & walk the trails during daylight hours. You can also swim in the summer months. See the full swimming area schedule & fees here.

Deep Eddy Swimming Pool is the oldest swimming pool in Texas. It is a man-made, spring-fed, historic swimming pool with a rich history in Austin, including being a resort in the 1920's. It is now operated by the City of Austin. Recent renovations include expanding the shallow end for a zero depth entry for small children, new pool bottom, new decks,wells and more.

Inks Lake State Park is 1,201 acres of recreational facilities adjacent to Inks Lake on the Colorado River in Burnet County. Inks Lake opened to the public in 1950. Inks Lake is located in the Highland Lakes chain(seven lakes) surrounded by granite hills. Inks Lake stays at a constant level, so droughts do not affect water-related activities such as swimming(unsupervised beach), boating, water skiing, scuba diving & fishing.

The Landa Park Aquatic Complex is the combination of 3 bodies of water in 1 complex: the spring fed pool, the zero depth pool & the Coach E.E. "Bud" Dallman Olympic Pool.
