We really enjoyed our visit to the Texas Memorial Museum. I arrived with my 3.5 year old and 18 month old one recent summer morning and easily found parking in the parking garage just north of the museum. You do have to pay to park but that is the case for all university garages. The museum, however, is free. There are lots of stairs at the main entrance so if you're visiting with a stroller you may want to use the wheelchair/stroller entrance. Just follow the signs and they will lead you right to it. Once inside there is an elevator so touring the museum is fairly easy with a stroller.
Just outside of the entrance to the museum are the outdoor exhibits; dinosaur tracks, an outdoor classroom made from vertebra and a saber-tooth cat sculpture, one of my son's favorites. The museum houses four floors of natural treasures. We spent the majority of our time on the first and second floors where the dinosaur and other fossils are located as well as the mineral and gem collection. The second floor also has the Texas Pterosaur, which is the largest flying creature ever found and was unearthed in West Texas. The third floor is the hall of Texas Wildlife where you can learn about Texas wildlife through mounted specimens of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. The fourth is the interactive Hall of Biodiversity which explores evolution.

The museum is beautiful and very well maintained. There is also a very nice shop on the main floor with unique gifts, books and jewelry for all ages.
