Boys Scouts of America-Capital Area Council
Ages: 7 - 14+
Cost: $15 registration fee every year for cub scouts, boy scouts and venturing. Note:some individual scout units charge a unit fee. Optional extras include; uniforms, handbook, camping equipment, etc.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
The Capital Area Council was establised in 1912 and has grown over time to support Scouting programs in 15 Central Texas counties.
Scouting Programs:
- Cub Scouts-boys who have completed kindergarten but have not completed the fifth grade
- Boy Scouts-boys who have completed fifth grade but are not yet 18 years old
- Venturing/Sea Scouting-Boys/Girls who are at least 14 and have complete the eighth grade but are not yet 21 years old, can join a Venturing crew or Sea Scout ship
- Exploring-Boys/Girls who are at least 14 and have completed the eighth grade but are not yet 21 years old, can join an Exploring post
