Austin Nature and Science Center is located on the western edge of Zilker Park right by Barton Springs and the Zilker Zephyr. Since 1960, the Austin Nature and Science Center has been dedicated to the exploration of the natural world. They provide hands-on exhibits and activities for adults and children of all ages. Visit the resident wildlife, dig up fossils in the dino pit, trade natural treasures at the Naturalist Workshop and Trade Center and so much more. Austin Nature and Science also offers:

- spring, summer, school holiday and winter camps
- volunteer oppurtunities

My family loves the ANSC. During the summer we like to go early in the morning before the heat sets in. After we explore all the animal exhibits; fish, reptiles, mammals, birds and more (most of which are rescued & cannot survive in the wild), we head over to the giant sand pit where kids can dig up dinosaur bones.
